INDEX OF SHAPES OF MOULDS IN CATALOGUES

List of Digitally Photographed Catalogues
Alphabetical Index of Shapes of Moulds in Catalogues
Computer Search of Indexed Catalogues

Most mould catalogues do not have an index. The 1906 Anton Reich catalogue has 509 pages. There are some 300 catalogues that we know of . This combintation is a cumbersome mass to search by hand for a mould.
Our museum has some 14,000 recorded moulds and 10,000 photographs of moulds in storage linked to the records. They are all available through computer search. We thought that a similar method could be used to produce an Index of Mould Catalogues.
We take a digital photograph of each page of the catalogue and link it to a record of each mould 'Number' and 'Shape' on the page. The record has the name of the maker, the year and title of the catalogue. We enter the linking page number, the shape, size, kind and type of the mould and other related characteristics. The whole is then computer searchable as the index and will be called up. In the index you can call up all of a maker’s catalogues or the catalogue of a particular Maker; all “cows” or all “Clarabell Cow” or cows in ” Ice Cream” or Chocolate” moulds; or of a particular maximum Dimension.
For details please see our web site where Kinds and Types, etc are listed.
We are urgently searching for the gift or loan of catalogues not listed on our web site and for financial support of this endeavor.

List of Digitally Photographed Catalogues

We take a digital photograph of each page and number it.
Arabic numbered pages are pages with moulds. Roman numeral pages are non-mould, “text “ pages. “C” = Cover.
          1. These catalogue pictures can be viewed page by page by clicking on the catalogue under the blue description of the catalogue you would like to view.
          2. You will then be shown a .pdf of the entire catalogue.
